April 1st, 2026 Release Updates:

Permissions Rework: Rehauled the "Roles And Permissions" section of the Account Owner's settings, organizing each function into sections and allowing the ability to define granular permissions.
Consultant Roles Increase: Up to ten total consultant roles can now be defined.
Client Notes Deleted Items: When a note is deleted from a client, it will be moved to the Deleted subtab of the Notes section of that client.
Signature Date Completed Column: Added a "Date Completed" column for the chart in the Signatures tab.

March 20th, 2026 Release Updates:

Signatures Rework: Additional features have been added when Initiating Signatures, such as bulk assigning, required/optional fields toggle, and control over font sizes.
Project Templates Bulk Edit: When applying Project Templates, users can use bulk edit to edit multiple values at once for the nested tasks, such as assigning multiple tasks to one user.
Signup Page for Clients Simplification: Made optional fields hidden when primary users and client users sign up for Basil.
Tasks Placard and List View Filters: Made changes such as Task View now being a sticky field.
Edit Status for Unowned Tasks: Users can now change the status of tasks that they do not own.
Forms Email Message: Users can now add a message to the client which will be viewable from the email they receive.
Forms Freeform Text Field: A multiline Label element has been added when building a form which allows the user to add an instructions or freeform text field.
Email Improvements: Made performance, navigation, and visual improvements in the Email tab. Also improved flexibility of creating tasks through emails.
Files Email Link Special Characters: The following characters can now be used when typing a message for Email Upload/Download Links for files: ! ( ) [ ] * @

March 6th, 2026 Release Updates:

Project Templates Rework: Changed how Project Templates are created, reducing the steps taken and simplifying the process.
CRM UI Change: Moved the CRM button within the People tab, added "Summary" and "Detailed" tables for both CRM and Clients.
Add Simple Client: Users have an option to have less fields required when adding new Clients by selecting Simple vs Advanced Client.
Bulk Client Invite: Users can use the CRM to view to identify clients who have not yet joined Basil and then send or resent invitations from there.
Add Task Action for Files: Users can create a Review or Download File Task for files by clicking the three-dot Actions button.
Chat Notifications Frequency Enhancements: The frequency of email notifications sent to users with unread messages can be further adjusted, adding the option to select number of days or hours.
People List View Display Improvements: The People tab list view will now better extend to the bottom of the browser tab, ideal for users with larger monitors.
Files Configure UI Changes: Made minor visual changes to the Root Workspace and Folder Template UI.
Folder Modified Date Adjustment: When viewing folders in the Files tab, the Date Modified column will now properly reflect when the folder's contents are edited.
File Lock Icon Change: The Locked By column for Zoho-editable documents and spreadsheets now only shows the lock icon when the file is locked.

February 13th, 2026 Release Updates:

Mobile Downloads: Users using Basil on mobile devices can now download files to their local devices from Basil.
Send URLs in Chat: Users can type or paste website URLs in Basil chatrooms and they will now convert to clickable hyperlinks.
Titles in Chats: Users can now add Titles for all chatrooms to aid in labeling and searchability.
White Label Improvements: Visual improvements to custom logos when shown in the Basil UI and emails.
Download Link File Total Improvements: After opening a "Download Files" link from an email, the recipient will be able to better see the total number of files available to be downloaded.
Project Repetition Recur On Start Date: When creating or editing a project with a repetition, user now has the option to make future occurrences occur based on the project's start date rather than the launch date.
Zoho Unsaved Changes Warning: User will now be warned before closing an editable file (such as .xlsx or .docx) in the Zoho editor if the changes have not been saved.
XLS File Type in Zoho: Account Owners and Team Members can now edit .xls file types through the Zoho online editor.
Improved Mention Notifications: When using the @ character to mention a team member in a client's note or task's comment, they will now receive both in-app and email notifications with a link to the Note or Task.
Assign Project Tasks to User: When adding Tasks to a Project, users can click ‘Retain assignees for next task’ to simplify assigning multiple Tasks to one user.
Basil Drive 64-Bit Version: A new 64-bit version of Basil Drive is available.

February 6th, 2026 Release Updates:

Further Updates to Sticky Filters: Using filters in several more views (Forms, Reports, Invoicing, Email, Chat, Tasks List view) will retain their selection when navigating to other areas of Basil.
Alphabetized Task Type List in Task Filters: When using Filters on the "Task" column in the List and Spreadsheet views of the Tasks tab, the list of available Task Types will be alphabetized for better browsing.
Recent Uploads Columns: Additional columns are added to the Recent Uploads list in the Home and Quick Actions view.

January 23rd, 2026 Release Updates:

Open PDF in New tab: When viewing files in folders, users can open a PDF file in a separate tab.
View Document Outline: When viewing a PDF, user can toggle to view Document Outline on the left panel, providing compatibility for PDF file Bookmarks.

January 9th, 2026 Release Updates:

Due Date Tracker: Users can see an indicator in the People tab for Clients with Tasks approaching Due Dates.
Added Filters: Added more columns to be filterable in the People, Files, Signature, Invoice, and Timesheet tabs.
"Sticky" Filters: Using filters in several views (especially Task views) will retain their selection when navigating to other areas of Basil.
Report Builder New Fields: Expanded Project-related fields in the Report Builder.
Dollar Sign in Task Description: Users can now add the dollar sign character ($) to the Description field when adding or editing Tasks.
Chat Template Character Limit: Increased the character limit in Chat Templates to 2000 characters.
Chat Unread Filter: Users can now filter the Chat list by unread chats only.
