Basil: Inviting Client Users

Client Users can be added by the Account Owner, Admin Team Member, or Primary User. Client Users are any users that may work for/with or consult your Client's Primary User. They can be given access to one or more Workspaces. Client Users will only have access to the contents of the 'External' folder for the Workspace they're invited to. Primary Users have automatic access to all the Workspaces of the Client. If you need to invite a Primary User to the Client please follow the 'To invite a Primary User' instructions.

To Invite a Client User:

  1. Click the ‘People’ tab at the top of Basil, then select the ‘My Clients’ subtab.
  2. Find the Client that has the Workspace you wish to invite Client Users to. Click on the 3-dot menu option for the Client.
    1. Note: You may view the following instructions if you need to create a Client and its Workspaces: Add Clients.
  3. Click on the 'Share' option.
  4. Here you’ll see two tabs (Client Users and Team Members). By default, you’ll see the Client Users who have access to the Client’s Workspace. Press the ‘+ Add’ button in the top right corner to give new users access.
  5. Use the ‘Invite New Client User’ tab to invite a brand-new user. Enter their email address and select their role (view/edit Client User role permissions by following the instructions outlined in the following help guide: Customize User Role Permissions.
    1. Tip: You can invite multiple new Client Users at once by clicking on the ‘+ Add more’ button.
  6. Click ‘Send Invite’ to send an email inviting the users to Basil and to the desired Client Workspace.

Please note: If a Client has more than one Workspace, you can choose which Workspace to invite Client Users to by clicking the Workspace dropdown.

You can also add Client Users from the “Files” section similarly. To do this, navigate to the “Files” tab, and find the Client. Next, click on their three-dot menu and select 'Share'.

Tip: If the Client User you wish to invite to the selected Workspace has already been invited to a separate Workspace for the same Client in Basil, you may use the "Add Existing Client User" tab. The user(s) will be listed. Check the box to the left of the user(s) you wish to add to this Workspace and click ‘Add’.

Please note: New Client Users will receive an email invitation that will include a link to sign up for a Basil account through the Basil website. Click the link to sign up. Alternatively, the new user can sign up for an account at the Basil website (https://basil.coraltreetech.com/signup) without waiting for the email invitation (they must sign up using the email address that was invited).
