Do I need QuickBooks software to open the file in my Qbox folder?
Qbox is used to sync QuickBooks company files from one computer to another and does not include a QuickBooks software license. All shared users need to have QuickBooks desktop software installed on their computer to access company files from Qbox. In addition, users need to be on the same year of QuickBooks to access shared files, as company files are not compatible with versions of QuickBooks across years. The version of QuickBooks will also need to match in terms of non-Enterprise vs Enterprise. For example, if the company file is on QuickBooks Pro 2024, then the file can be opened by QuickBooks Premier 2024, but not QuickBooks Enterprise versions.
