Basil: Can I hide the Task types that I don't need?

Yes, go to Settings > Task Settings > 'Manage Task Status and Types'. Here you can hide (or unhide) Task types by clicking the view icon for the task. Tasks that are hidden will not appear in the drop down list of Tasks when a Task is created.
