Basil: Root Client Dashboards

When going to a Client’s Dashboard, Basil shows a default view of sections that are either expanded (such as Tasks and Notifications) or tiled (such as Notes and Projects). You can use Root Client Dashboards to apply a template to all or selected Clients so that all team members see the same module layout for those Clients.

Creating a Root Client Dashboard:

Navigate to any Client Dashboard. Arrange the sections as desired by collapsing (X) or expanding (+) them.. Then, on the top-right, click ‘Actions’ and ‘Save Client Dashboard’.

After giving it a name, you can choose how you’d like to apply that dashboard right away. Those changes will be shown for all of your team members

Viewing and applying existing Root Client Dashboards:

From the ‘People’ tab, in the top-right, click the ‘Root Client Dashboard’ button.

Here, you can view, edit, delete, or apply your existing Root Client Dashboards.

You can click the ‘Apply Template’ icon on the far right to change which Clients each Dashboard is assigned to.

Note: If you select 'All Clients,' the template will be applied to all clients currently in Basil. New clients created in the future will not automatically have this Root Client Dashboard applied. They will use Basil's default dashboard. To apply the custom dashboard to new clients, you must return to this page and apply it again.

Granting a role Root Client Dashboard permissions:

If a team member in Basil cannot see the Root Client Dashboard button in the People tab, the Account Owner will need to go to Settings and ensure that role has ‘Create/Edit Root Client Dashboard’ permissions enabled.
